Strength Bones & Balance Class
Who is this class for?
This class is specifically designed for safe and effective exercise to manage Osteoporosis or low bone density.
This program is great for improving bone mass, but also for improving strength and is suitable for anyone wishing to improve their muscle and bone strength, along with balance to decrease risk of falls and fracture. It can help you to improve your overall health, bone and muscle strength and your independence.
What are the goals for parcicipants attending this class?
How the program works:
Why undertake this class with an Exercise Physiologist?
Safety! While we all know exercise is good for you, people often underestimate the difference between one type of exercise and another, and the risks some exercises can pose for people with certain conditions. Having low bone mass places you at increased risk of fracture.
For this reason bone-specific exercises must be implemented correctly and supervised to reduce risk of injury. Research shows us that higher intensity exercises can help your bone health, but this type of training must take into consideration your individual requirements and be supervised by a University trained exercise professional.
